This map shows locations suitable for the installation of public charging stations. Stakeholders can submit their feedback on the proposed locations via the participation platform ingesprek.denhelder.nl.<\/p>\n<div>The map is an elaboration of the Charging Vision for Electric Vehicles adopted by the municipal council last year. This vision outlines the municipality&#039;s strategy to work towards a comprehensive network of public charging stations within walking distance in the built-up area by 2030. It is expected that there will be a need for approximately 350 new charging stations by then, as the number of electric vehicles increases. By identifying and determining in advance which locations are suitable for installing charging stations, they can be realized more quickly upon an application. Currently, proposed locations on a plan map from 2019 are still being used. This map is no longer up-to-date, and therefore, upon an application, it is frequently necessary to re-evaluate whether a location is still suitable. This results in delays.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Good distribution When drawing up the new map, attention was paid to, among other things, a good distribution of the charging stations and their spatial integration. To limit the pressure of charging on public space and parking, public stations can only be requested by residents or businesses without charging facilities on their own property. Furthermore, new charging stations are only installed if there is a concrete demand for them at that location or if existing stations in the vicinity are being used very intensively. To realize the charging stations, the municipality is collaborating with MRA-e, TotalEnergies, and Vattenfall.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Participation The charging map adopted by the Municipal Executive is provisional. Before the map is definitively adopted, the municipality wishes to offer stakeholders the opportunity to provide their opinion on the proposed locations. This can be done up to and including Tuesday, July 16, via ingesprek.denhelder.nl. The responses will be taken into account when drafting the final charging map.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Applying for a cable duct By accelerating the installation of more public charging stations, the municipality aims to further encourage the switch to electric driving. Residents or businesses who have their own charging facility but no private parking space have also been considered. They can apply for a cable duct. This consists of a row of tiles placed in the sidewalk to hold the charging cable. Consequently, the cable no longer lies loosely across the sidewalk or under a cable mat. This prevents unsafe situations and cluttering of the streetscape.
