The municipality asks residents to think about the future of heritage<\/strong><\/p>\n

The municipality is working on a new heritage policy to make heritage more accessible and
\nto further develop. This policy includes tangible heritage such as monuments and nature, as well as
\nintangible heritage such as traditions and stories. New in this policy is the focus on nautical
\n(Floating) Heritage. The municipality believes that heritage belongs to, for, and by everyone, and therefore initiates
\na participatory process to involve residents in the development of the new heritage policy.<\/p>\n

How can residents participate?<\/p>\n

To get a good idea of the wishes and needs regarding heritage, the municipality invites residents
\nto complete a questionnaire at ingesprek.denhelder.nl. This website also includes the schedule for
\nthe heritage policy and links with more information about heritage. Completing the questionnaire takes
\napproximately 10 minutes and can be completed until March 3, 2025. The questionnaire focuses on the importance of heritage
\nand traditions and how the municipality can shape the discussion about this.<\/p>\n

What happens after the questionnaire?
\nA summary of the results will be posted on ingesprek.denhelder.nl and will be used by the municipality
\nto organize further discussions about heritage. After the in-depth discussions with residents and
\nThe new heritage policy will be discussed in the municipal council by stakeholders. It is expected that
\nthe municipal council will adopt the new heritage policy on October 7, 2025.
\nCouncillor Fotigui Camara emphasises the importance of this broad approach: \u201cHeritage connects us with the
\npast and gives color to our future. By determining together how we preserve our heritage and
\ndevelopment, we ensure that it remains valuable for everyone. I invite all residents to participate
\nto think and make their voices heard.\u201d
