On the edge of Bos De Donkere Duinen lies De Helderse Vallei, a green oasis full of nature experiences. Here you discover, experience, and enjoy everything nature has to offer. This visitor center and city farm is perfect for nature lovers and families visiting Den Helder. Whether you come for peace, the sea, or space, there is always something to experience here.
In the permanent exhibition, you get to know the nature surrounding Den Helder in an interactive way. You learn more about the dunes, the beach, the Wadden Sea, and the forest area. On the large floor plan, you explore Den Helder and the surroundings from above. Additionally, you can make all kinds of new nature discoveries in the 'forest studio'.
There is plenty for children to do as well. They get acquainted with farm animals, play in nature, can participate in organized and ongoing activities, and learn about sustainability through play.
