This route takes you to the edge of Donkere Duinen where Refugium is located, a former sports field complex, now a wet dune valley. Scottish Highlanders and koniks graze in the Grafelijkheidsduinen. An interesting trip is Fort Kijkduin (with sea aquarium and museum). On the inside of the dune lies new Mariëndal: not so long ago bulb soil, now an inner dune landscape with many special plants and birds. To a large extent it is nature for a stroll, there are no paths. The east side is a resting area.
