Better visibility for cyclists
Zeestad has commissioned Schadenberg Infra to simplify the intersection at Parallelweg–Beatrixstraat. Currently, motorists driving past the station from the Vijfsprong can still turn left at the Beatrixstraat.
In the new situation, car traffic follows the 'bicycle chain' towards the next roundabout. There, motorists emerge onto the carriageway that also forms the official parking route. From this point, one can turn right towards the Gravenstraat car park. Later this year, this route will also provide access to the new Kroonplein car park and the Kroonpassage parking deck.
The current crossing will be greened and slightly raised. Emergency services will be able to continue passing this location if necessary. The work will continue through Friday, January 23. The road will remain open to traffic during the works.
