For the first time this year, we are organizing a "Light Walk" in the Hortus. From Thursday, December 19th, to Saturday, December 21st, we will open our doors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for our loyal visitors, Friends of the Hortus, volunteers, neighbors, and everyone who would like to (re)experience the beauty of the Japanese Garden. The garden will be illuminated, and after the walk, you are welcome to enjoy pea soup, hot chocolate, and Glühwein.
In winter, the Hortus showcases plants in bloom that visitors normally do not get to see. In the Japanese Garden, these include the Camellias, also known as Japanese Roses, which belong to the same family as the true tea plant. Throughout the winter, these shrubs are adorned with beautiful large flowers. During the Light Walk, you may already spot some of them.
