On Saturday, July 6th, stroll with the nature guide from Landschap Noord-Holland through Nollen-Zuid, formerly a boring bulb-growing area, now a true asset to the landscape, with unique salt-tolerant plants.

From an old piece of bulb field to beautiful dunes
Right next to station Den Helder-Zuid is the Nollen-Zuid nature reserve. It's located on a plot of land that was once used as a training ground for the army, a motocross track, and once a bulb field.
At the beginning of this century, the North Holland Landscape Agency redesigned the area with dunes and wet valleys. There are many transitions from dry to wet.
When the area was developed, the old Wadden Sea bed was brought to the surface again, allowing many plant species that prefer salty conditions to grow, such as the sea aster.

Saturday afternoon the 6e In July, the guide will take you through the area and together you will discover how nature has developed over the past 20 years.
Enjoy the beautiful flowers and, depending on the weather, the butterflies. And of course, various bird species feel at home here too.
Please note: This excursion concerns the nature reserve and not the sculpture park of the artist Rudi van de Wint, which is located opposite.

When: Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Departure point: Burgermeester Ritmeesterweg; near Station Den Helder-Zuid
