Do you really want to get to know Den Helder? Then join a city walk. In approximately 75 to 90 minutes, a guide will take you past historical sites in the city center and at the former Willemsoord naval shipyard. You will hear stories about the past, the present, and the future.
The tour is in Dutch and suitable for small groups of up to 15 people. It's relaxed, organized, and unhurried. The guide adapts to the group's pace. Private or group tours are also available upon request.
The city tours for May are online, so plan your visit now. During the May holidays, discover the maritime heart of Den Helder with a guide. You will walk past historic docks, impressive ships, and hidden spots in the port city.
In May, the tours depart on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 AM from the Tourist Information Centre at Willemsoord 52a. Registration is mandatory via the form below.
The tour will proceed with a minimum of 5 registrations. You will receive confirmation 24 hours before the tour whether the tour will go ahead.

During the City Tour you will walk through the history of Den Helder and discover what the city is building today. You'll hear the stories behind striking buildings, characteristic streets, and unique monuments, allowing you to see the city through new eyes.
The route takes you through the old Willemsoord naval shipyard, the new town hall, and past the Best Library in the Netherlands. Then you walk towards the windmill and back through the city center where the City Tour stops. The tour lasts 75 to 90 minutes. Please note: The City Tour is not a round trip.
