Kroontjesbunker (FL250)

War relic with a view: coordination bunker from WWII in a nature reserve

The Crown bunker (FL250) is a remarkable remnant from World War II. This tower-like command bunker earned its nickname from the distinctive crown shape on its roof.

Military nerve center on the coast

From this air defense bunker, Allied aircraft movements were plotted through a glass wall, and coordinates were relayed to the anti-aircraft guns. Information was relayed via a network of radar stations, including positions in Zandvoort and Terschelling. This created a chain of observation that could accurately track every aircraft movement.

Experience military history

Located in a nature reserve near Huisduinen, the bunker is only open during special events such as Bunker Day and Open Monument Day. In the future, the Kroontjesbunker will be restored to its original state as much as possible.

Please note: nature reserve

The bunker is located in a protected dune area. Stay on the marked trails and bring a flashlight to explore the interior.
