The Helderse downtown area boasts a sound you rarely hear these days. Since 1975, volunteers have been providing a barrel organ experience like the old days. On a wooden, three-wheeled cart and operated entirely by hand, the Harmonica barrel organ is nostalgia in motion.
Tradition that keeps on going
With its 90 keys, this authentic organ plays familiar melodies from the past. The Helderse Barrel Organ Friends foundation aims to keep Dutch barrel organ culture alive. And they're succeeding. Every Saturday, you can hear their music among shoppers.
