On the edge of the Balgzand nature reserve stands a new observation tower, nearly 10 meters tall. From here, you can see far: over the bird-rich salt marshes, the Balgzandpolder, and even as far as Texel and Wieringen on a clear day.
See more, disturb less
The tower is cleverly positioned outside the birds' habitat, allowing you to experience nature up close without disturbance. The bird cliff—a five-meter-high nesting site for coastal birds—is also within view.
Birdwatching in all seasons
Balgzand is one of the busiest bird airports in North Holland. Thousands of birds land here every day to rest or forage. A paradise for birdwatchers and photographers.
Combine with other viewpoints
Nearby, you'll also find a birdwatching screen, a photo hide, and the 't Kuitje nature information center. Make a morning or afternoon of it, but avoid busy times to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
