About this project

With the De Admiraal project (the final phase of Halter Bellevue), Housing Foundation Den Helder/Helder Vastgoed is realizing 42 rental apartments, 12 owner-occupied homes, and a commercial space in the city center. Situated between Prins Hendriklaan and Spoorstraat, the project is an important link connecting the city center with the dike and the sea. The facade features characteristics of 19th and early 20th-century architecture, and the Helderse identity is underscored by maritime and nautical decorations.

Due to the variety in heights, the diversity in facade cladding, and the distinctive nautical features, each section of Halter Bellevue acquires its own unique appearance. For instance, the six-story white apartment building features illuminated indicator lights and an image visible in backlight. The front doors of the residences on Prins Hendriklaan feature decorations based on Navy ceremonial uniforms, and the apartment building on Spoorstraat is adorned with two shields depicting Gothic sea knights.

Apartment layout

Both apartment buildings are spread over six floors and equipped with an elevator. De Admiraal will feature solar panels and individual heat pumps. With well-insulated facades and roofs, the homes are highly energy-efficient!

Commercial space

McDonald's will be moving into the 450m2 commercial space on the corner of Spoorstraat and Prins Hendriklaan. The current McDonald's premises will then become vacant to make way for the completion of the city park.

Nature-friendly

In addition to being sustainable, Halter Bellevue is also very nature-friendly. Special nesting stones for bats, nesting stones for bees, and nest boxes for birds are being built into the facades at various locations. Furthermore, future residents are encouraged and advised to use greenery in the outdoor space, and we are considering placing insect hotels in the inner courtyard.

Progress

Housing Foundation Den Helder/Helder Vastgoed gave the official go-ahead for construction on November 7, 2024. The construction will take approximately 1.5 years.
By now, the new building is clearly visible from all sides. The building will be completed in the middle of this year. McDonald's can then move to its new premises on the corner with Spoorstraat, the new owners will receive the keys, and the apartments will be offered for rent via woonmatchkopnh.nl.

Rental information

42 homes are designated for rent. The rental prices have not yet been determined. The apartments/townhouses will be rented out in due course via  www.woonmatchkopnh.nl
