A ferry ticket is always a return ticket. Returning to Den Helder? Then you simply board without any security checks. So you don't have to arrange anything extra. The crossing itself takes about 20 minutes, just enough time to enjoy the sea view.
Driving to Texel? You can buy your ticket online in advance and use license plate recognition. You'll drive straight through the barriers without waiting. Note: this applies to cars up to 6.5 meters.
Next to the terminal in Den Helder is a free parking lot, also suitable for longer stays. Follow the signs for "P Texel." It's often busy in summer, so arrive early. From here, it's just a few minutes' walk to the ferry.
Traveling by public transport? Take bus 33 from station Den Helder. It stops right in front of the ferry terminal entrance. Pay easily with your debit card. Good to know: on your return trip, you can just hop on – no need to check in or out.
