Experience the freedom of swimming in the open sea. At the wide beaches of Den Helder and Julianadorp, you can dive straight into the refreshing North Sea. Whether you prefer a gentle float or braving the waves, you'll find a spot to suit you. After your swim, a beach pavilion with a sea view awaits for a well-deserved drink or snack.
The seabed slopes gently, and lifeguards keep an eye on things in the summer. So you can swim with peace of mind. Everything you need for a carefree day at the beach.
Marsdiep Swimming Club isn't just any club; it's the oldest sea swimming club in the Netherlands. Since 1924, members have braved the elements here from May to October. They swim in a naturally demarcated section of the sea, surrounded by buoys and lines. Safety is paramount: no one swims here alone. The current can be strong, the water cold and unpredictable. But that's precisely what makes it special. Want to experience the real sea? Then this is the place for you.
Prefer a warm and organized environment? Then dive into the modern Het Heersdiep swimming pool. This Aquacentrum is the ultimate swimming paradise in the Noordkop region. Inside, you'll find several pools, a swim-out pool, a diving tower, and recently a brand-new play area with a Fantasy Zone. Outside, a lawn with shaded areas, an air trampoline, and a large pirate ship await. Whether you want to swim laps or splash around with the kids, you can do it here seven days a week.
Looking for a tropical atmosphere? In Julianadorp, you'll find the Ooghduyne swimming pool. With a 61-meter-long slide, rapids, and warm water, water fun is guaranteed. Child-friendly and well-organized, it features whirlpools and a swim-up bar for a relaxing moment. Perfect for families who want to enjoy time together.
