Let's fly the flag!
The 12 social rental homes on Spuistraat are almost ready for rent.
When driving in the ceremonial stake, Alderman Wouters promised a fitting gift once the homes were completed. These ultimately turned out to be flagpole holders specially selected by the architect. And then it was only natural that the flags had to be hoisted. Together with Director Robbert Waltmann of Helder Vastgoed, the Helderse flag and the flag commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Housing Foundation were hoisted.
Spuistraat consists of 6 ground-floor apartments with a garden and storage. The six upper apartments are accessed via a staircase to the first floor; each staircase contains two single-family homes with two bedrooms and a terrace. All homes feature a spacious bathroom and a kitchen in the living room. Plenty of natural light enters through the many windows. Sustainability has also been considered. Each home is completely gas-free, uses a heat pump, is fully insulated, and has 6 solar panels on the roof.
The facades of the homes and storage units on Spuistraat are adorned with beautiful ornaments of starfish and ship's rope. With this, Attika Architekten symbolizes Den Helder's connection to the sea and the maritime background.
The homes will become available for rent after the summer. Helder Vastgoed BV manages and handles the allocation of the 12 homes. The rental prices will be determined at a later stage. The apartments/homes will be rented out via www.woonmatchkopnh.nl in due course.
Over the coming years, Helder Vastgoed BV will build more than 400 (social) rental and owner-occupied homes in the Municipality of Den Helder to address the housing shortage. In the city center, in addition to the 12 new social rental homes on Spuistraat, another 4 social rental homes on Koningdwarsstraat will become available for rent. Furthermore, construction will start this year on 36 rental apartments near Halte Bellevue, 7 Palmhout owner-occupied homes on Spoorstraat, and 4 owner-occupied homes at the former Biegstraten site on Koningstraat. Construction of 36 rental homes in Het Warenhuys will follow later. Work is also underway on new housing supply outside the center with projects such as Molenwerf (34 owner-occupied and rental homes) on the Vinkenterrein and Het Kasteel with 39 rental apartments in Nieuw Den Helder.
