Auteur en theatermaker Marjolijn van Heemstra komt op uitnodiging van NUT Den Helder zondag 11 oktober naar School 7.

Ontdek haar blik op mens en heelal

Marjolijn van Heemstra schrijft romans, poëzie en theater. Ook maakt ze podcasts en voorstellingen. Haar fascinatie voor ruimte en mysterie loopt door haar werk. Ze schreef zelfs poëzie voor NASA en wetenschappers van de James Webb-telescoop. Als huisdichter van de European Space Agency zag ze een gedicht met André Kuipers meegaan naar de ruimte.

Maak kennis met haar bekroonde werk

Haar werk is persoonlijk, poëtisch en maatschappelijk betrokken. Haar roman En we noemen hem verscheen in acht talen. In lichtjaren heeft niemand haast werd NPO Radio 1 Non-fictieboek van het Jaar 2023. Ook haar theatervoorstellingen kregen erkenning en nominaties. Daarnaast schrijft ze als Correspondent Ruimtevaart voor De Correspondent.

Praat mee over zingeving en verwondering

Van Heemstra onderzoekt ook spiritualiteit en zingeving. Haar studie godsdienstwetenschappen vormt hiervoor een belangrijke basis. Ze zet zich bovendien in voor het behoud van duisternis. De schrijversontmoeting duurt van 14.30 tot 16.30 uur. Deelname kost € 7,50 en tickets zijn verkrijgbaar bij de bibliotheek of via KopGroep Bibliotheken.

DeLange – In the Arms of Solitude

Can I be alone without feeling lonely? When we feel embraced by music, being alone can actually have a healing effect. Neo-Romantic composer-pianist DeLange is known for his melancholic melodies that take you into your memories and emotions and make you feel secure in your own presence. DeLange grew up with the sounds of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Debussy, and this is reflected in his compositions. Because DeLange experiences music in colors and forms (a condition called synesthesia), composing is for him like creating works of art: painting colorful landscapes with the melody as the main subject.
