Fixi: new app for public space notifications

Loose paving stones, litter, or other public space-related reports can now be submitted in the Den Helder municipality via the Fixi app. The app is quick and easy to use. Reporters will also be kept informed of the progress of their report by providing their email address or creating an account.

Floor plan
Residents can also indicate whether their report should be displayed on a map in Fixi. The text and any photos of the report will then be visible at the location of the damage or nuisance. The advantage of this is that others who want to report the same thing can immediately see that it has already been submitted and what action has been taken. The feedback from the municipal employee to the reporter is also visible on this map. Anyone who indicates that their report should not be displayed on the map will only be notified by email. Anonymous reporting is also possible.
Also via website and telephone
In addition to the Fixi app, residents can also continue to report incidents in the usual ways: online at www.denhelder.nl/melden and by phone at 14 0223. When contacted by phone, a municipal employee will enter the report on Fixi.nl. The municipal website also links to this. This way, all reports are entered into the Fixi system, which helps them be processed more quickly.
14,000 reports
Every year, the municipality of Den Helder receives around 14,000 reports about public spaces. These include loose paving stones, broken traffic signs, dumped waste, green maintenance, nuisance, and so on. "It's great that so many people take the time to report issues," says Alderman Martin Zuiddam for Public Spaces. "This way, we're quickly informed and can take action. This way, together with the residents, we keep Den Helder clean, safe, and secure."“
Positive
Neighborhood manager Nancy Hoffman also welcomes reports: "A report is often seen as something negative, but it's actually positive that people report things to us. It shows that people are engaged with their community. And through Fixi, we can now let them know more easily and quickly what we've done with their report."“
Free
The Fixi app is available as a free download from the App Store and Google Play Store. More information is available at www.denhelder.nl/melden.
