The course Politically Active in the municipality Den Helder starts on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The course is intended for anyone who wants to know more about the municipality. The course is also very
suitable for anyone who is interested in becoming politically active, but not yet exactly
Learn about the possibilities. Participation is completely free.

What can participants expect?

What does the municipality do? What is the municipality's position in Dutch government? How does the
Decision-making within the municipality? What does a council member do? These questions – and more! – are answered
Participants in the course answer. There is also a debate training and meetings with
politicians and administrators from the municipality. This way, participants gain practical experience and train
they useful skills. Finally, the participants attend a city council meeting and
they receive a certificate from Mayor Jan de Boer.

The course consists of six meetings on the following dates:
Wednesday, March 12, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Wednesday, March 19, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Wednesday, March 26, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Wednesday, April 2, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Wednesday, April 9, 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Tuesday, April 22, from 6:00 PM

The meetings take place in the town hall (building 66) at Willemsoord

Organization

The municipality of Den Helder organizes the Politically Active course in collaboration with ProDemos –

A total of thirty people can participate. Registration for this free course is open until February 26th.
