Maritime art makes basketball even more fun!

Art, sports, and the sea come together on the basketball court at the Quelderduijn sports and recreation park, near the home of Eredivisie basketball club Den Helder Suns.

Over the past few weeks, the artists at Dreamcourts have transformed the court into a spectacular work of art.

The centerpiece? An imposing Neptune in the Suns' signature colors. The sea god stands proudly with a basketball and a trident—or rather, a "three-pointer," as our city poet Yanaika Zomer described him during the grand opening.

This powerful image perfectly suits the maritime character of Den Helder.
