Effective April 1, 2024, Roel Salden will be the new General Manager of Port of Den Helder. The Port Authority's Supervisory Board welcomes his appointment. The Municipality of Den Helder, the Port Authority's shareholder, also supports this decision.

Roel Salden has extensive experience as a director. He previously worked for organizations such as Rijkswaterstaat, ProRail, and the Amsterdam Transport Region. As a result, he has extensive knowledge of logistics and collaboration between government and business.
Ambitions for the port
Hans Bolscher, member of the Supervisory Board, is enthusiastic about Salden's arrival: "Roel is an experienced and results-oriented director. He knows Den Helder and what's going on in the region."“
Salden himself is looking forward to his new role: "A port is always evolving and faces major challenges, such as the energy transition. I'm looking forward to working with my team, our customers, and partners on the future of Port of Den Helder."“
Farewell to Kees
Turnhout's Roel Salden is taking over from Kees Turnhout. After nine years of dedication to the port, Turnhout is retiring. The port authority thanks him for his significant contribution to the development of Port of Den Helder.
