Julianadorp has elected a Villager of the Year several times. We don't organize this annually (as the name suggests), but every five years. Piet Sieswerda was elected Villager of the Year in 2011, Jan van Velzen in 2012, Albert Kisteman in 2013, Mary Romar in 2014, Gerrit van Mullem in 2015, and Michel Jansen in 2020.
In 2025, the Cultural Association Julianadorp Vooruit wants to hold another Villager of the Year award. Every association, club, or board has someone who deserves to be recognized for their dedication to the village. This includes the volunteers who selflessly dedicate themselves to this work.
We're calling on associations, boards, clubs, and of course, the residents of Julianadorp to nominate a resident of the village who deserves to be named Villager of the Year. This person will receive their own tile at the bandstand in Loopuytpark and will be given a special place in the spotlight.
So if you know someone within your association, club or circle of friends who you think deserves to be Villager of the Year, that person can be nominated.
Nominating, how do you do that?
We'd naturally like to know why the nominated candidate is a good fit for the title. Therefore, we ask you to submit a well-reasoned proposal, including at least the following:
– what is the special merit of your candidate
– what is the meaning of these merits for Julianadorp
– what or for whom has your candidate volunteered and worked selflessly?
– during which periods (how many years/how many hours) has your candidate been active?
– name, age, (email) address, telephone number of your nominated candidate
– name, (email) address and telephone number, so that we can contact you if necessary.
Nominations can be made via email [email protected] or via www.deculturele.nl
A committee established specifically for this purpose will assess all nominations based on established criteria and will select the new Villager of the Year from these.
