Shipyard for young people

This week, young people aged eleven to sixteen enthusiastically built their own wooden boats at the Medemblikkerloods in Willemsoord. With the help of volunteers and clear instructions, they sawed and screwed together their dream boats.

This shipyard was part of a week of maritime and technical activities for young people in Den Helder. The festive closing ceremony took place on Friday with a floating party, where the self-built ships participated in water activities and the young people enjoyed the DJ's music.

This special week, in which young people discovered the nautical culture of Den Helder, was made possible thanks to the collaboration of local organizations such as Triade | Center for Art, Culture and Education and MEE & de Wering.
