Sports and history on one route
On Saturday, March 15th, between 9:15 AM and 1:00 PM, experience Den Helder at its most adventurous. The Bodyfit Spring Trail takes you through parks, across historic defense lines, and past fortifications over two centuries old. The start is at the Bodyfit gym in Quelderduin Park. From there, you'll run through a unique landscape brimming with stories.
Choose your distance and walk along forts and dikes
Every distance – short or long – takes you past Fort Dirks Admiraal. Choose the 15 or 22 km route? Then you'll continue along the dike line with two old depots. The 22 km route even passes Fort Erfprins and through the dry moat of Fort Kijkduin, which now houses a marine aquarium and museum.
Sculptures, parks and single tracks
All routes pass through the landscape art project The Nollen, with impressive sculptures by Ruud van de Wint. Passing under station Den Helder Zuid, you head towards Reehorstpark. After a few single tracks through Quelderduin, you finish where you started.
Practical: bring your own cup
Collecting race numbers or registering for youth/frame runners will be possible from 9:30 AM at Bodyfit. There are no changing rooms or showers. You can, however, leave your bag. There will be stations along the route with water and fruit.
