The Jutterhavendagen will return in 2026 as a maritime city event for residents and visitors of the region. From Friday evening, July 24, to Sunday, July 26, Willemsoord and the city center will together form the backdrop for a weekend full of experiences by the water.
The festive kick-off takes place on Friday evening with a Drive-in Cinema in the harbor. As soon as evening falls, you float in your own boat or from the quay while watching a film together on the water. This special film experience became a crowd favorite last year and gives the festival a unique highlight of the weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, the city event kicks off. Not only Willemsoord, but also the city center is fully participating. Together with the Museum Harbor, they form the backdrop for a nautical maritime festival full of nautical heritage, music, street theater, crafts, children's activities, and water spectacle. As a proud Navy city, Den Helder demonstrates just how strong the bond with the sea and the navy is. In the Museum Harbor, alongside historical and nautical vessels, old navy ships are also moored, which you can admire and visit up close.
There is an extensive range of activities for children. Think of creative workshops, playful discoveries related to water and technology, and sporting challenges. This allows you to get acquainted with everything related to the sea, ports, and shipping in an accessible way. The event is specifically aimed at families, but lovers of music, heritage, and a good time will also feel at home here.
On Sunday, the festival is complemented by a shopping Sunday and market in the city center. Here you will find stalls with a wide variety of products, local initiatives, and artisanal surprises. The combination of market, music, and maritime atmosphere makes this day a relaxed conclusion to the weekend.
