Whenever something goes wrong in Chris’s life, he always thinks of his mother’s saying: “Oh well, no babies will come of it.” And even though this is his wisdom, he secretly has other plans. Chris struggles through his uncertain, single existence with great pleasure, but secretly he would like to pass something of himself on to the next generation. Quite difficult, when even looking a woman in the eye is a challenge.

Loneliness carries no warning sign. For Chris, that loneliness is not a major drama, but a faithful co-driver in his mind. It feeds his fantasies, his fears, and his longing for connection. As the world rushes past him, he wonders: when do you truly belong? And what if no one sees how hard you are actually trying? With a great deal of discomfort and a healthy dose of self-mockery, he decides to share the life lessons he has learned himself with his audience for now. Will Chris succeed in contributing to society in his unique way?

Comedian Chris Verlaan captured the hearts of many with his shows 'Man in de Maak' and 'De Kringloper'. With his unique, autistic view of life and his witty humor, he takes the audience into his world. His stories are relatable, surprising, and offer a refreshing perspective on everyday reality. In his very own dry, cynical style, Chris presents a show full of anecdotes like only Chris can deliver them.

The press:

“Chris Verlaan has a distinctive voice of his own in the cabaret landscape.”

“The ending of his cleverly constructed performance is a moving uppercut and a wake-up call rolled into one. Theater Newspaper

Roxeanne Hazes is homesick… for the theater. After an initial series of theater shows in 2025, she returns this autumn with a new album and a new show, '…met heimwee' (…with homesickness). It is the overarching theme of her upcoming third studio album. Homesickness for a home, or perhaps anything but. Homesickness for people, places, tastes, smells… and so much more. It has become a warm and hopeful album, yet with her typical melancholy and evocative lyrics. The first single, 'Chaos Gedoofd' (Chaos Extinguished), was released recently.
