Debussy, Schubert & Rachmaninoff
In this recital, the cello takes center stage in three monumental works from the chamber music repertoire. Claude Debussy's Sonata in D minor opens the program with a refined and colorful sound world in which French elegance and modern expression converge. This is followed by Franz Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata, one of the most beloved works in the Romantic cello repertoire, featuring lyrical melodies and an intimate dialogue between cello and piano. The program concludes with Sergei Rachmaninoff's Sonata in G minor, a grand and emotionally charged work in which cello and piano challenge each other in virtuosic passages and broad romantic lines. Together, these three sonatas form a rich palette of styles, colors, and expression.
