Cellist Filip Krzeszowiec explores the rich expressive world of the cello with music by Debussy, Schubert, and Rachmaninoff, from refined French sound to grand romantic lyricism. The Polish cellist Filip Krzeszowiec belongs to a promising new generation of young musicians. He is currently studying with Alexander Gebert at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and, since 2026, also at the École Supérieure de Musique of Jérôme Pernoo in Paris.

Krzeszowiec won first prizes at various international competitions, including the International Michał Spisak Competition, the Jan Vychytil Cello Competition in Prague, and the International Bach Solo Competition in Poznań. As a soloist, he performed with the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the Szent István Philharmonic in Budapest, among others.

He has performed at festivals in various European countries, including the International Holland Music Sessions in the Netherlands. With his intense musicality and rich tone, he is rapidly developing into a striking young cellist on the international stage.

Debussy, Schubert & Rachmaninoff

In this recital, the cello takes center stage in three monumental works from the chamber music repertoire. Claude Debussy's Sonata in D minor opens the program with a refined and colorful sound world in which French elegance and modern expression converge. This is followed by Franz Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata, one of the most beloved works in the Romantic cello repertoire, featuring lyrical melodies and an intimate dialogue between cello and piano. The program concludes with Sergei Rachmaninoff's Sonata in G minor, a grand and emotionally charged work in which cello and piano challenge each other in virtuosic passages and broad romantic lines. Together, these three sonatas form a rich palette of styles, colors, and expression.

Bob is a genius, but the world doesn't realize it. He has good intentions, and even better ideas. Ideas to help the world, only the world often acts as if he himself is the one who needs help. This performance is an attempt to reach a compromise on this matter.
