Mill in Den Helder
Den Helder once had several windmills. Street names such as Molengracht, Molenstraat, and Molensloot still remind us of that time. Thanks to the efforts of the Helderse Windmill Foundation 'De Onderneming'‘ the city has a windmill back again: The Good Expectation.
Experience the craft up close
Inside the mill, you get an impression of the many windmills that used to stand in Den Helder and Julianadorp. The millers are happy to take you through the craft of flour grinding. Smell the freshly ground grain, hear the creaking of the wood, and see how tradition comes to life.
