Run along Napoleon's forts and dike on October 11 in Den Helder

Walk where soldiers once marched

On October 11th, you'll run through a unique piece of history. During the Napoleon Mile Run, you'll follow a route along the Helderse line, past old forts and defenses from Napoleon's time. He saw Den Helder as the maritime gateway to Europe. Now it's your route.

Choose your miles

Will you go for 5 or 10 English miles (8 or 16 km)? You decide. There's also a special youth run for children, 1.3 or 2.6 km. You can run recreationally or against a time, just the way you want. This sixth edition is once again open to everyone: from seasoned runners to curious beginners.

Unique running experience in the Netherlands

The scenery is impressive: fortifications, bunkers, and the historic dike. In 2019, the Athletics Union named this race the most fun in the Netherlands. And for good reason. The scenery, the history, and the course make this an experience you won't soon forget.

Join in, just because you can

You can register in advance via register.nl or on-site. So if you feel the urge to join in at the last minute, you're still welcome. Lace up your running shoes and experience Den Helder like never before.

Event
We know Marjolijn from her previous, sold-out shows about panic, worrying, and pills. Her honest, deadpan cabaret full of self-mockery is a genre in itself and draws full houses throughout the Netherlands. In this show, she wonders why we only appreciate life when someone is dead. Or sick. Couldn't that happen a little sooner? Do people have to die before we feel alive? Black humor, sensitive songs, and shameless stories; that is Van Kooten through and through. It certainly won't be her fault if she doesn't.
