This show is also accessible to audiences with a visual impairment. The family weekend you actually want to go to! A musical comedy full of sharp satire and relatable Dutch awkwardness. The creators of *Ver van je bed* (8 Musical Award nominations) present *We zijn toch familie*, with Paul de Leeuw as father Evert and Annick Boer as mother Marjan.

When the Polman family goes to the Veluwe for an old-fashioned family weekend, Evert (Paul de Leeuw) hopes to reconnect with his children—Hannah (Renée de Gruijl) and Pieter (Martijn Kardol)—despite his divorce from Marjan (Annick Boer). But Marjan doesn't come alone: she has brought her new partner Jan Dirk (Bart van Veldhoven) along, a hyper-enthusiastic life coach and sauna master who wants nothing more than to become part of this family.

The heated discussions about family history, retirement, parenthood, career, the environment, private care homes, and the future ensure that tensions quickly rise during the weekend. Between shuffleboard, strict house rules, and infusion sessions in the Finnish Löyly, the family makes frantic attempts to keep things pleasant at all times. But how long will they manage? Who is afraid of the truth? And who is afraid of the Veluwe wolf?

In a world that is constantly in flux, full of chaos, the threat of war, climate change, AI developments, and polarization, there is at least one certainty: the place where you come from. And the people around you whom you call family. Will this family still reach a shared happy ending, or will they remain stuck in this forced family constellation? And what about those wolves outside; can't we just shoot them?

We zijn toch familie is the topical, humorous, and relatable musical comedy by writing talent Maarten Hopman, known for De Speld and Even tot hier. This musical is a hybrid of cabaret and musical, combining the topical and socially critical aspects of cabaret with the grand and compelling nature of musical. A production featuring brand-new music by composer Ezra van Nassauw. Director Owen Schumacher became known to the general public through Koefnoen and the Sinterklaasjournaal.

The show is only on view for five months in a select number of major theaters. Don't miss it!

Can I be alone without feeling lonely? When we feel embraced by music, being alone can actually have a healing effect. Neo-Romantic composer-pianist DeLange is known for his melancholic melodies that take you into your memories and emotions and make you feel secure in your own presence. DeLange grew up with the sounds of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Satie, and Debussy, and this is reflected in his compositions. Because DeLange experiences music in colors and forms (a condition called synesthesia), composing is for him like creating works of art: painting colorful landscapes with the melody as the main subject.
