Explore one of the most impressive bunkers of the Atlantic Wall in Julianadorp. The M219 Sea Life Battery It's a unique two-story bunker with a massive central shaft, intended for heavy artillery and ammunition supply. Although the bunker was never operational – the war ended before its completion – this place breathes history.
Bunker Museum & Viewpoint
The northern bunker is open to the public as a museum and is managed by an enthusiastic group of volunteers who can tell you all about the function and construction of these colossal structures. The southern M219 is designed as a lookout point with views over the beach, sea, and dunes.
Heritage in nature
This unique heritage site is located in a protected nature reserve. Please follow the marked paths. The site is not accessible for wheelchairs or those with limited mobility.
Practical
Parking is available at the beach entrance Northern Sandt. The bunker is from May to September open every other weekend, and every Saturday during the summer holidays.
