After months of preparation and renovation, the renovated Helders Museum will open its doors to the public on Saturday, December 14th. An interactive exhibition has been installed in the exhibition space of the Pavilion of the Past, located at Borneolaan 1, that takes visitors through the historical events that shaped the development of Huisduinen and Den Helder. Through images, sounds, and various objects, the exhibition explores the origins of the land and its first settlements, all the way to contemporary urban renewal.
The new exhibition marks the tenth anniversary of the Afgestoft foundation, which includes the Helders Museum, and was made possible by a grant from the Wadden Fund. The museum's new exhibition targets a broad audience, making it well worth a visit for both tourists and residents of the Den Helder municipality.
The exhibition is open to the public every Wednesday through Sunday from Saturday, December 14th, with different opening hours during the upcoming holidays. Residents of the municipality of Den Helder can temporarily visit the exhibition at a reduced rate by using a discount voucher. For terms and conditions, current opening hours, and admission prices, see www.heldersmuseum.nl.
