Reopening of Technology Campus Den Helder: future-proof
technical education in the region.

After a thorough renovation and refurbishment of the building, it was Thursday 20
November 2025: the reopening of the Technology Campus at the Burgemeester
Ritmeesterweg. Around 130 guests attended the official opening, in the presence of
Alderman Niels Nanning and were given a tour of all the innovations in the building.
The renovation of the campus – where trainers Vonk, Tetrix Techniekopleidingen, IW Noord
Holland and RelyOn are jointly established – this stems from the national 'Attack Plan
Technology', with which the government focuses on strengthening technical education and
stimulating lifelong development (LLD) and innovation.

Flexible learning environments and additional facilities for adult education
The renovation included the complete renovation of the office and practice spaces and
flexible learning environments and additional facilities for adult education have been created. In addition
the school canteen has been transformed into a multifunctional space for working, learning, eating and
relaxed.

Technical talent for the region
The Techniekcampus plays an important role in training technical talent for the region.
There is close cooperation with companies including DMI (maintenance company of the
Royal Netherlands Navy), Damen Shipyards and Taylor Group to offer training and courses
offer that meet the demand from this sector. This makes the location unique in North
Holland.

Technology is changing and Techniekcampus is moving along with it
Branch managers of Vonk and Tetrix, Tai-Chow Andrae and Per Groenland, are proud of the
renovated campus: “Technology is changing and we are moving with it. With this step we are laying the
basis for a future-proof technology campus where young and old, students and professionals,
