We believe culture is important in the Den Helder municipality. Every year, thousands of people visit our
cultural gems such as the Kampanje and the Library. Many people are also actively involved in culture,
For example, by taking a course or singing in a choir. Culture is for and by everyone.

The municipality of Den Helder is updating its cultural policy. Your response to the survey tells you
us how we perform as a municipality in the cultural field. This way we know what we do well and what we –
together with you – perhaps we can do even better.

The cultural policy states what the municipality considers important in the field of culture and what we can contribute to
will be working in the coming years. The cultural policy consists of four themes:

• Children and culture
• Everyone participates
• Den Helder cultural heart of the region
• Cultural entrepreneurship

“The cultural policy is the basis on which the municipality of Den Helder will work together with our

The Ziltepad is now complete: a walking route of over 400 kilometers along the Wadden coast, from Den Helder to East Groningen. The route connects nature, heritage, and reflection along the Wadden Sea.
