Unique swimming crossing through the Marsdiep on September 5

Do you dare? On Thursday, September 5th, the Be Tough Swim will take place: a spectacular crossing from Texel to Den Helder. The route cuts through the Marsdiep, a rough and turbulent stretch of sea normally untouched by swimmers.

No trip for wimps

Participants brave tides, cold, and currents during this 4.5-kilometer crossing. It's a physically and mentally challenging swim. Suitable only for experienced swimmers.

Finish in Den Helder

The tour ends on the Helderse side of the Marsdiep, where supporters will be waiting and the water will literally welcome you. The exact finish location will be announced later, depending on the current.

You can also watch

Can't make it to the swim? Come watch! There's plenty of space along the dike near the Marsdiep to cheer on the swimmers. A rare spectacle you can witness live.
