Bob is a genius, but the world doesn't realize it. He has good intentions, and even better ideas. Ideas to help the world, only the world often acts as if he himself is the one who needs help. This performance is an attempt to reach a compromise on this matter.

In this quasi-absurdist performance, the strangeness of life is explored, and some sense of stability is sought in this odd existence. You will benefit from this for the rest of your life.*

So to speak.

Bob is a member of Comedytrain and a finalist of the Leids Cabaret Festival 2025. Additionally, he has performed at Lowlands for the past 3 years and you might know him from his appearance on Lubach.

The press:

“He intrigued with a surprising performance in which he revealed himself as a convinced doubter, with a head full of unexpected questions and alternatives to a sometimes recalcitrant reality.” – NRC on the Leiden Cabaret Festival final

“The world viewed through the eyes of Bob Koomen not only offers brilliant insights, it is above all incredibly funny.” – Kasper van der Laan

Everyone gets older, but not everyone becomes an adult. The Van Arkel Brothers clearly do. Or at least, they are working on it. Their father, the minister, has retired, and now it is their turn to become someone. Someone with a vision. A plan. Someone with their own coffee machine, matching tea towels, arch supports, and a 12-piece screwdriver set. Someone who does the weekly grocery shopping every Saturday. Who doesn't doubt everything so much. Who doesn't have to outdo his brother every time. Someone you address formally without even realizing it.
