On Wednesday, April 29, you will step into the mudflats together. Jerry from Landschap Noord-Holland will take you along. This way, you will experience the richness of the Wadden Sea up close.
Scan like a wading bird
Search for lugworms and shellfish, just like the wading birds. Look closely around you and discover what lives beneath your feet. Especially in the mudflats, something new always catches your eye. That makes this trip fun, active, and educational.
Prepare yourself well
Mudflat walking is muddy and wet. Wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and that suits the weather. It often feels colder on the mudflats than on land. Wear shoes with a hard sole that are securely fastened, as there are sharp oysters in the mud.
Fun and educational for children
This excursion is a wonderful introduction to the nature of the Wadden Sea. Children aged 6 and up can join, always accompanied by an adult. If you do not have suitable shoes of your own, you may be able to borrow them at the starting point 't Kuitje. Please arrive 15 minutes early to try them on. For more information and to make a reservation, visit the Landschap Noord-Holland website.
