On Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 PM, the photographic work of Thomas Nondh Jansen will have its festive opening at Den Helder. You will see an overview of his colorful and playful photography at Restaurant Kunst&Kitchen and De Kunstuitleen. During the opening, you will raise a glass together and sample appetizers from Egyptian cuisine.
Look at what you already know differently.
Thomas creates still-life photos full of color, humor, and imagination. Using tape and everyday items, he transforms ordinary objects into something new. Think of balancing coffee cups, a fridge full of tomatoes, and sponges as an ode to washing dishes. This shows just how special the ordinary can suddenly feel.
Discover work with a personal perspective
The theme of home plays a major role in his work. Since his adoption from Thailand and his life in the Netherlands, Thomas has looked at home, routine, and everyday objects with great attention. You can feel that personal perspective in the exhibition.
Experience a maker with a broad platform
Thomas works on commission for, among others, de Volkskrant and NRC Handelsblad. His work has also appeared in Die Zeit, De Morgen, The Financial Times, and the Noordhollands Dagblad. He previously exhibited at Kunstuitleen Alkmaar and De Kunst10daagse in Bergen. This gives this exhibition extra significance for photography enthusiasts.
