Did you know that cardiovascular disease 80% can be prevented by a healthy lifestyle? Dr. Janneke Wittekoek, cardiologist and founder of HeartLife Clinics, known from TV programs such as 'De Dokters', 'Gezondtijd', and 'DreamSchool', is going on tour with her theater lecture: 'De Vrouwenhart Show'! An interactive performance in which the doctor's office is brought to the theater.

Worldwide, cardiovascular disease remains the number one cause of death among women. Many of these heart problems can be prevented through a healthy lifestyle and a better understanding of risk factors. In 'De Vrouwenhart Show', Dr. Janneke shares everything about the female heart and provides practical tools for a healthier life.

Why does the female heart work differently from the male heart? How do you recognize heart problems? Choose pills or bell peppers? Although the heart is the same organ, the female heart functions very differently from the male heart. “Many heart problems that occur in women are the result of mental imbalance – in other words, stress,” says Janneke Wittekoek.

“If you better understand how your heart can react, you can also understand how to properly influence your heart health.” By living a healthy life—and that concerns both physical and mental health—you can largely prevent heart problems.

Your heart deserves the best care, and in The Women's Heart Show, you will learn everything about cholesterol, healthy nutrition, sleep, stress, and the influence of hormones. An evening full of insights, humor, and practical tips!

About Janneke Wittekoek

Dr. Janneke Wittekoek is a cardiologist, health scientist, and has her own heart expertise center, HeartLife Clinics, in Utrecht. Her mission is to better understand the female heart, striving for personalized medicine. Additionally, she has a passion for prevention and devises strategies to prevent cardiovascular disease.

Janneke Wittekoek is known from TV programs such as 'De Dokters' and 'Gezondtijd', among others, and she appeared as a guest lecturer in 'DreamSchool'. She also appears as an expert in the social media hit: 'Dokters Vandaag'. Janneke is the author of eight books, including 'Het Vrouwenhart' and 'De Hart-Hoofdconnectie'. Janneke Wittekoek is a sought-after speaker for podcasts, radio programs, webinars, and masterclasses for international companies. The cardiologist is a strong advocate of 'medical infotainment': ‘The best way to predict your future health is by taking good care of your heart today.’ Medical knowledge can certainly be made a bit fun, with the aim of getting people to take good care of their hearts.

Better care

From the heart, and based on personal experiences and conversations with thousands of patients, cardiologist Janneke Wittekoek shares her passion for medicine and the pursuit of better care for women and men!

She previously performed in a sold-out DeLaMar Theatre with 'De Vrouwenhart Show'. But the passionate cardiologist is far from finished talking and is eager to win the hearts of the Netherlands!

Janneke Wittekoek completed her training at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam and spent an extended period abroad to further specialize in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. 'Know your numbers' is her slogan, with which she encourages people to map out their risk factors. Janneke Wittekoek is married and has two children. She often starts her day with a 4 km walk with her dog and a dip in the (cold) water.
