Every Tuesday in the summer you can stroll past dozens of stalls full of surprises

From June 23rd to August 25th, the Juttersmarkt takes place every Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The Juttersmarkts fill the center of Den Helder with a colorful mix of stalls, bargains, and people. Whether you are looking for something specific or just want to browse around, you will always find something here.

Enjoy sniffing around and being outside

The market winds through the streets of the city center. With an ice cream in hand or a fresh juice at the stall, you'll browse bags, jewelry, toys, home accessories, secondhand finds, and handmade goods. Perfect for a spontaneous afternoon outdoors.

Different every Tuesday

Come often, because the selection changes each time. That makes this market popular with both locals and day trippers. Were you there last week? Then you'll discover something new this week.

Combine it with the city and the sea

Add a terrace. Pop into a shop you've never heard of. Or turn it into a day at the beach and finish off with a visit to the market. Everything is within walking distance.

Guided tour
Would you like to join a tour of this magnificent fort? The "Fort op de Harssens," unknown to many, was built as an armored fort by the Dutch between 1880 and 1886, then and now part of Stelling Den Helder (Fortress Den Helder). What will you experience? An authentic fort (without furnishings, etc.) where time seems to have stood still. The atmosphere of 1900 is still palpable.
