City Park: on the way to the final phase

The City Park forms a green connection from the station to the dike. The Julianaplein and the area between the Bethel Church and the St. Peter and St. Paul Church have already been developed as a park. The former fish shop has also been purchased and is temporarily in use as an art gallery, providing a platform for young artists.

Now that 'De Admiraal' (the final phase of Halter Bellevue) is in full construction, space is opening up for the completion of the park. This year, the urban design is being updated and developed into a feasible plan, with attention to climate adaptation (such as heat stress and water retention) and parking.

Zeestad organized an initial meeting on Wednesday, October 8. It showed that residents are strongly involved with the Stadspark and view the park as an indispensable part of the city center. There is much appreciation for the green character, but also a need for improvements in maintenance, accessibility, experience, safety, and facilities. In addition to the user experiences and wishes of residents and entrepreneurs, we are also mapping out the professional requirements and wishes.

We observe that residents are highly involved with the City Park and view it as an indispensable part of the city center. There is great appreciation for the green character, but also a need for improvements in maintenance, accessibility, safety, experience, and facilities. In addition to these user experiences and wishes of the residents, we are also engaging in dialogue with the entrepreneurs to identify professional requirements and wishes in order to arrive at a sound design for the final phase of the park and, where appropriate, to improve the existing park. You can here read back the users' experiences and wishes.

More projects

The Kroonpassage is being redeveloped. Part of the Kroonpassage will remain but is being renovated to accommodate a new supermarket and retail space. The remaining part of the Kroonpassage will be demolished to make room for a new square. In addition to creating a pleasant environment, parking is being improved, and the design of the square takes the changing climate into account.
Construction of the Admiraal is in full swing! In this final section of Halter Bellevue, 54 homes (12 for sale and 42 for rent) and a 450 m² McDonald's are being realized.
Zeestad has started the renovation of Koningstraat, from Oostslootstraat to Spoorstraat. During these works, the sewage system is also being renewed. The project is being carried out in phases so that the neighborhood remains accessible and disruption is kept to a minimum.
